Leah is a Research Consultant at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP‎.  Previously, she has held positions as Reference & Outreach Librarian at the Toronto Lawyers Association, Legal Librarian with the City of Toronto, and Reference Librarian at the Bronfman Business Library at York University.  Leah earned her Master of Information from the University of Toronto in 2015, after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at the University of Alberta.  She has been on the SLA Toronto Executive Board since 2016, and is thrilled to serve SLA Toronto as President in 2018. Christine currently holds the position of Law Librarian at Bennett Jones LLP where she answers a variety of research questions and provides support in respect to practice planning and competitive intelligence. In the past, Christine worked at Bora Laskin Law Library and participated in a practicum placement at the Library of Parliament in Ottawa. In 2011, she graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Information. Christine has held various positions in SLA Toronto including Registrar, Membership Director, First Five Years Director, and Secretary. Mary Gu is the Information Services Library at CPA Canada, a non-profit organization supporting the Canadian accounting profession at the national level. Mary supports accounting and general business research for all internal clients, and contributes to records management and archival projects. She has a background in research librarianship across a variety of subject areas including social sciences, humanities, and life sciences. Mary received her Honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and her Master of Information from the University of Toronto. She took her first role with SLA Toronto in 2017 as the Programming Director and is looking forward to learning the ropes as the 2018 President-Elect. Mary Gu

Allison currently holds the position of Knowledge Management and Information Specialist at RGA International, where she fulfills a wide range of research requests and provides up-to-the minute business and health science news to a global audience. She was previously a Business Information Specialist at Manulife, and, before that, worked at McGill University Libraries at the Osler Library of the History of Medicine and on digitization projects. Allison holds a Master of Library and Information Studies from McGill and an undergraduate degree in History from Concordia University. In addition to the role of Treasurer of the Toronto Chapter, Allison also currently serves as Chair of SLA’s Insurance and Employee Benefits Division. Allison Smith

Alex Herd is is an information specialist in the Toronto area. He completed a Master of Information from the University of Toronto in 2016 and also holds a MA and PhD in history. He aims to work in information centres that support academic and applied research in any field. Alex Herd

Sarah is a tattooed info pro and tech wrangler. She has worked in knowledge management in the reinsurance, telecommunications, and consulting industries, and has a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Western University (in addition to a BA and MA in archaeology and some dead languages). In addition to wearing cardigans ironically, Sarah is professionally interested in the intersections of various types of librarianship with knowledge management and always looks for opportunities to demystify and evangelize about knowledge management, technology, and information organization to anyone who will listen. Kathryn works as a Research Specialist at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she specializes in assisting lawyers and practice staff with tax and legal research. In the past, she has worked as a Library Assistant at Aird & Berlis LLP and as a Graduate Library Assistant at the University of Toronto in both the Dentistry Library and Gerstein Science Information Centre. Kathryn graduated from the University of Toronto with her Master of Information in 2015 and completed her Baccalaureate of Arts and Science, in Biology and French, from the University of Guelph. Jessica is currently the Science Liaison Librarian at the University of Toronto, Mississauga campus where she provides liaison librarian services, collection development, information literacy sessions, and research help to faculty, and students. Previously, Jessica worked as a Research Librarian with the Ontario Ministry of Finance.  Jessica earned her Masters of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University in 2014, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Guelph. Jessica has previously served as SLA Toronto’s New Information Professional Coordinator for 2015 and 2016, and has now taken on the role of First Five Years Director. Jessica Hanley

Cassandra is the Segment Manager for medium and large professional firms at Thomson Reuters where she is responsible for ensuring that the voice of the customer informs and drives the organization’s initiatives by supporting the building of strong relationships and collaboration with other departments. Previously, she worked as a Competitive Intelligence Analyst at Bennett Jones LLP.
