Please join SLA Toronto West for our first Student Spotlight presentation by Rachel Lerch (Mohawk College) titled “Building Worlds on the Raspberry Pi: What it Can Do for You and Your Libraries” on April 22nd.

The Raspberry Pi is an inexpensive palm-sized computer board that people have been using to learn computing and create exciting projects since 2012.  Libraries are introducing this powerful little device into their programming, maker spaces, and to offer customized technology solutions to their staff and patrons that might otherwise be financially out of reach.  Special Libraries offer unique services, and the Raspberry Pi is the computer to deliver unique solutions.  The possibilities are endless, from setting up dedicated media databases and viewing stations to running customized digital signs.  Join Rachel Lerch on April 22nd to learn more about the different ways that a Raspberry Pi can serve your library.

Come out and show your support for up and coming library professionals and learn about this exciting new technology!
