SLA Job Searchers Meetup – Oct 24, 2013

Feeling overwhelmed by all the cover letter writing, interview jockeying, having too much experience, not having enough experience, and figuring out how to get out of the contract cycle? We are too! Don’t go through it alone – come out to the SLA Job Searchers Meetup!
The SLA invites job seekers and recent grads out to a casual night of seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and getting support on your transition into the work world. You’ll also hear some great, short talks from successful new info pros on how you can improve your chances of scoring that first job, or moving up in the ranks.
Who: Any info pros who’ve graduated in the past five years, are about to graduate, or are currently out of work
When: Thursday, October 24th, 6pm, talks ~7pm
Where: Habits Gastropub (928 College St., Toronto)
This month’s speakers: Victoria Baranow, Legal Librarian (iSchool ‘12), and Nonna Volodina, Consumer Health Specialist (iSchool ‘13)
Cost: Free! So bring money for drinks and/or food if you like
Questions: Contact Emily Porta at eeporta @ gmail.com
